It is therefore important to think carefully about your action and its consequences.  <\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Alternatives to Surrender<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Before surrendering your pet, we strongly encourage you to look at <strong>possible alternatives<\/strong> for your situation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Finding solutions to improve life with your pet: <a href=\"https:\/\/proanima.stagingsept24.com\/...\/accueil-des-animaux-abandonnes\/\">https:\/\/proanima.stagingsept24.com\/en\/our-services\/giving-up-your-pet\/ <\/a><\/li>\n<li>Solving dog behaviour problems: https:\/\/proanima.stagingsept24.com\/en\/private-class-canine-behaviour\/ <\/li>\n<li>Solving cat behaviour problems: <a href=\"https:\/\/educhateur.com\/\">https:\/\/educhateur.com\/ <\/a><\/li>\n<li>Finding an apartment that accepts pets: <a href=\"https:\/\/appartmap.com\/\">https:\/\/appartmap.com\/ <\/a> <br \/>\nDo you find no accommodation that accepts them? Offer the landlord a reference letter as well as a security deposit for damages. <\/li>\n<li>Taking care of your pet even if you have financial difficulties: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondationanimo.org\/\">https:\/\/www.fondationanimo.org\/ <\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If, despite everything, you are no longer able to keep your pet, do everything you can to provide a good, stable life in a new home. Perhaps a family member, friend, co-worker, or someone in the neighbourhood would be happy to take them in. You are the person who knows your pet best and can find the best home for them. Surrendering to a shelter should be the last option.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>&gt; Here are some tips on how to find a new home for your pet: <a href=\"https:\/\/proanima.stagingsept24.com\/...\/comment-trouver-une...\/\">https:\/\/proanima.stagingsept24.com\/en\/news\/advice\/how-to-find-a-new-family-for-my-pet\/ <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Last Resort: Surrender to a Shelter<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As a last resort, if you absolutely must bring your pet to a shelter, p<u>lan your appointment several weeks in advance.<\/u> The shelter will be able to plan ahead for the animal\u2019s needs and resources. You could be charged with animal neglect. Animal cruelty is punishable by law.  <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Do not leave your pet in a box or tied to a tree.
